Horseback riding near Mesa, Arizona

This area covers the east side of the Phoenix area, from Mesa to Apache Junction and Gold Canyon at the foot of the Superstition Mountains, and north-east to Fort McDowell. In Mesa, Usery Mountain Regional Park, a Maricopa County park at the western end of the Goldfield Mountains, has more than 34 miles of trails and a horse staging area. Beyond it, the Tonto National Forest includes the Superstition Wilderness, where several outfitters are authorized to guide rides.
