Horseback riding in Maryland

Maryland riding ranges from the Appalachian ridges of Western Maryland to the hunt country north of Baltimore and the Atlantic shore. Patapsco Valley State Park and Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area have extensive horse trails, and Green Ridge State Forest opens its roads to riders. At Assateague Island National Seashore, riders may bring their own horses onto the beach from fall through spring. Stables across the state offer lessons and guided trail rides.
