Rhode Island packs woodland trails and ocean beaches into a small area. Lincoln Woods State Park north of Providence has horse trails, and the Arcadia Management Area in the wooded west of the state has bridle trails and a horsemen’s camping area. Along the coast, beach rides depend on the season: horses are allowed on Second Beach in Middletown from October through April, and guided rides also run on Block Island.
