Horseback riding in Vermont
- 5 riding establishments
Vermont riding follows the Green Mountains, the farm valleys on either side and the shores of Lake Champlain. The Green Mountain National Forest has trails managed for horses, and state lands allow riding on designated multi-use trails and gravel roads. Inns and stables run guided trail rides, with fall foliage rides a seasonal highlight and horse-drawn sleigh rides in winter. The Morgan horse, one of the first American breeds, is the state animal.
