The Beartooth country runs from Red Lodge and Absarokee, south-west of Billings, over the Beartooth Highway to Cooke City and Silver Gate at Yellowstone’s Northeast Entrance. Outfitters ride into the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness and the Custer Gallatin National Forest, among high plateaus, lakes and some of the highest terrain in the region.
