Elk Fork Outfitters guides horseback trips in the Shoshone National Forest from a trailhead at Elk Fork Campground, roughly 30 miles west of Cody. Half-day and cook-out trail rides run from late May through June for riders aged 10 and up, and five-day pack trips from mid-July through August reach a wall-tent camp on Cabin Creek in the Washakie Wilderness. No riding experience is needed.
