THE STABLES at Palmer Gulch
The Stables at Palmer Gulch is a horseback outfit near Hill City, South Dakota, in the Black Hills National Forest. Guides lead personalized one-hour and 90-minute trail rides into the Norbeck Wildlife Preserve for riders 6 and up. Guests can also reach a chuck wagon dinner show in a mountain meadow on horseback or by covered wagon, or join a wagon breakfast ride with pony rides for kids aged 3 to 7.
Closed for the 2026 season. Reopens in 2027, per the business website.
