Horseback riding near Dewey & Cottonwood, Arizona

This area groups riding businesses in central Arizona, around Cottonwood in the Verde Valley and Dewey near Prescott, and north-east to Mormon Lake, south-east of Flagstaff. In Cottonwood, Dead Horse Ranch State Park lies along the Verde River: its shared-use trails, open to riders, lead up to the high desert of the Coconino National Forest, and the park’s concessionaire runs guided rides. Around Dewey, the Prescott National Forest allows horses on almost every trail.
