Historic Banning Mills
Historic Banning Mills is a nonprofit adventure and retreat center in Whitesburg, Georgia, set in Snake Creek Gorge roughly 45 minutes from Atlanta. Its guided horseback tours last one or two hours, following old water raceways beside Snake Creek past the ruins of a paper mill, and need no riding experience. Riders must be at least 10, rides run year-round, and the resort also offers cabins, treehouses and zip line tours.
