The Middle Way Sanctuary
The Middle Way Sanctuary is a non-profit in Hartsel, Colorado, that opened in 2018 and combines equine-assisted therapy with a 35-acre sanctuary for horses, including wild mustangs adopted from Sand Wash Basin. It teaches therapeutic riding as well as dressage and jumping lessons from beginner to advanced, and veterans, first responders and active-duty military take part at no cost. Farm visits are by appointment only.
