Springmaid Mountain Retreat & Stables
Springmaid Mountain is a 400-acre mountain retreat on the North Toe River in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, near the Blue Ridge Parkway, with cabins and a campground. Its equestrian center runs one-hour guided trail rides across the property every day of the year except Christmas, in groups of up to eight riders aged 8 and older, while smaller children can take lead-line rides with a parent leading the horse.
